I’ve spent a good few hours today setting up sites on the following:

As usual we have used WordPress – with the right plugins it makes life very easy and is a good way to build out content sites quickly. We’ve also made use of our in-house team of writers to roll out the sites at a cost-effective price.

Current versions of WordPress come with the Akismet installed by default which, once activated with your WordPress.com API Key, uses a unique algorithm combined with a community-created database to “learn” which comments are comment spam and which are legitimate. All in all Akismet works pretty well and does the job.

I do have a few sites, however, on which I haven’t implemented Akismet for various reasons and I’ve just been manually flushing out all the latest spammed comment attempts. Some of the comments made me chuckle so I thought I would share a few on here:
